This is the complete list of official sources DataSpeaks draws on — what each one publishes, how current it is, and how reliably we can reach it. Published in full, so you can judge the foundation and not only the finished chart.
Why this page exists
Most data sites show you the output and keep the inputs to themselves. You are asked to trust the chart because it looks careful. That is not a standard — it is an aesthetic.
This page is the other half of every dashboard on the site. It names each source we pull from, states when its data was last updated, and says plainly how we get hold of it — from a live interface, from a file fetched on a schedule, or by reading a printed report and typing the numbers in by hand.
That last distinction matters more than it looks. A figure keyed in from a PDF can be current and correct and still be one transcription error away from wrong. Recording how a number reached us is how you know which figures to check hardest — and it is not information a site can publish if it wants to appear infallible.
How to read this page
Every source carries one of these. The tier describes how we obtain the data, not how much we trust the agency — a Tier C source can be the most authoritative figure in the country and still arrive as a scanned table.
The agency publishes a queryable endpoint. Figures refresh automatically and are never more than one release cycle behind the source.
A file at a durable address, fetched on a schedule and checked for changes. Current to the agency's own release rhythm.
Figures that exist only in a PDF or printed report, entered by hand with a page reference. Checked twice, and flagged as such on the pages that use them.
The registry
Grouped by subject. Each entry lists the publishing body, what it covers, the most recent data year DataSpeaks holds from it, its refresh cadence, its tier, and the Goals it feeds.
Actual and normal rainfall by state and district, and departure from the long-period average across the monsoon season. The basis of the monsoon dashboard.
Shoreline change assessment along the Indian coastline, classified as eroding, accreting or stable, by coastal state and union territory.
Waste generated, collected, processed and landfilled by state and union territory, in tonnes per day, with installed processing capacity.
Legacy dumpsite counts, bio-mining and remediation progress, and city-level sanitation status reported under the mission.
Area sown under each kharif crop against the corresponding week of the previous season, released weekly through the sowing period.
Headcount ratio, intensity and MPI value by state and district across health, education and standard-of-living indicators.

Revenue receipts, fiscal deficits, expenditure on social services, and capital expenditure tracked against state budget estimates.
RBI Digital Payments Index (RBI-DPI) growth, retail payment volumes, and UPI transaction trends across payment enablers.
Known gaps
Some questions readers ask have no adequate official answer. Rather than reach for a proxy and hope, we record the gap. These are the limits of what this site can currently say.
Revisions and citation
Agencies revise their own figures — a provisional estimate becomes final, a survey round is reissued, a definition changes between years. When that happens, the page carrying the figure is updated and the change is dated on the page itself. We don't quietly overwrite a number and leave the chart looking as though it always said that.
If you are citing DataSpeaks, cite the underlying source too. The page gives you a chart; the agency gave you the number.
